The Pilbara Spotlight is a web-based community profile of what is happening in the Pilbara region.
It is a pilot project developed as a partnership between the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and the Pilbara Development Commission with support from the Department of Regional Development and Lands. Similar Spotlights are being created for the Mid West and Peel development commissions.
The Pilbara Spotlight is the first project in Western Australia that combines regional data with local knowledge to help improve government services planning and delivery. It allows regions to plan for and measure progress towards a sustainable future. Spotlights are produced at a local government area level and the Pilbara Spotlight involved the four Pilbara local government authorities: the shires of Ashburton, East Pilbara and Roebourne and the Town of Port Hedland.
